ACIA Engineering Acoustics

Since 1994 ACIA has worked on more than 130 wind energy schemes, typically being responsible for preparing the noise chapter of the ES (EIS in Scotland), on projects as diverse as large wind farms and small-scale single turbine and micro-turbine schemes. Noise surveys carried out to investigate compliance with conditioned planning limits.

Preparation and presentation of evidence

We are fully conversant with the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005, as well as its predecessor Noise at Work Regulations 1989 and the 1972 Code of Practice.

Workplace noise

All sorts of projects require acoustics input, from new housing near airport flight paths, through entertainment licensing for pubs and clubs, to noise mitigation schemes for all sorts of industries. There is little guidance on noise in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) but ACIA has the experience to help developers through the process.
